Burnout Alley Hot Rods - Page 2

1/24 Lindberg "4-Banger Dragster"

Originally built by none other than Bill Wessels in the early 90's, this car is a great example of his great attention to detail & unique-ness.

I was attending a model show as a helper with Bill at the time & he brought this out to sell. I had to have it.

Below, you can see he actually used the belly pan and made it all work.

Wheels are a combination of front K&B dragster & Classic viper rears. Rear chrome knockoffs are #22 AYK Aoyagi Metals brand of Tokyo, Japan.

He picked out a Dynamic chassis & Champion 16d motor setup that looks like it was made to fit the Lindberg static model as if it were a factory build.

Over the years, I have tinkered with the car & added decals, a body post to the top half of the body & different wires & braid to cure an electrical contact issue. Once in awhile, I'll get it into our drag racing program to blow out the cobwebs. The car runs consistently well.

1/32 Lindberg "Tuned Tinker"

Built in the late 80's, the tuned tinker barely fits over the AT-206 Atlas setup.

Wheels/tires are Auto World turned fronts & sponge rears.

The driver is a combination of a Strombecker torso & legs of unknown origin. Arms are from a Ulrich driver kit.

1/32 Salt Flats '32 Ford

Drive line is the Atlas AT-206 motor/scratchbuilt ChromOllie frame setup.

Body is the Dubro '32 Ford with the roof removed. Driver is a Gil Field mold & wheel covers and dashboard are from the spare parts bin.

1/32 '32 Ford Dragster

Again, running gear is the Atlas AT-206 but, on this one a K&B dropped front axle was used with a guide tongue soldered in.

Body is the Dubro '32 Ford coupe. Auto World sponge rears were picked for this & the previous car.

The last three cars were built in the early 80's.
