1/24 '32 Ford "Ratt Rod"

Chassis is a Dynamic motor mount with a scratchbuilt front section & rear body mount.
Front axle with ball bearing wheels is an altered K&B unit.

Motor is the Kemtron X503. Rear tires are vintage AJ's whitewall silicones.

Body is the vac Dubro #05 '32 Ford Altered and was painted on the outside with Mopar "Sublime" automotive acrylic enamel.

Chassis is now completed. Brass & piano wire pieces were painted silver metallic enamel.
An original Dynamic guide flag was used with modern day Parma silicone lead wire.

Decals were done on the inkjet printer.

The "Ratt Rod" is a good consistent runner on the strip & enjoyable to drive.

1/24 '27 Ford "T Bucket"
I started with a Ray Racin' stamped brass chassis, K&B Dropped front axle, Parma PSE Team Edition 16d & Lancer #104 27 T Modified body.
Tongue was cut off & repositioned to fit our application. Front axle was widened & made to "pivot" slightly with retention from a piano wire up/downstop.
Pin tube body mount is installed. Chassis is masked & ready for silver enamel.

Chassis & body completed. Roll bar is scratched from brass rod. Steering wheel is from a dragster model.

Front tires are Buzco mounted on the K&B rims. Rear tires/wheels are AJ's silicones.

On the line at LORDS Dragway, ready for the tree.

Wheel covers are from the model car junk bin.

Champion driver bust & gauges are hand detailed.

"Yours truly" at LORDS Dragway holding the 1st place winners for the 1/32 & 1/24 Nationals on 12-22-04.

1/32 Monogram '32 Ford "Deuce"
Not a scratchbuilt but, one of my favorite Hot Rods. This was Monogram's first slot car and also my first slot car "kit."
My original deuce is long gone except for the chassis which will be covered on my "Dirt Oval Cars" page, as it resides under a different car. The following car was an ebay auction win & was in good used condition.
This chassis is unique to this car, not used in any other. Performance was bad, mainly due to the position of the guide & high center of gravity.
For our application as a drag car it's not a problem and is usually the way I build them to hide the guide flag.
Windshield was replaced with a handmade job using plastic from a CD case. Engine was detailed & chrome plugs from the electronics store made perfectly sized wheel covers, salt flats style.
Body was polished & detailed. Roll bar, firewall & dashboard were covered with bare metal foil. Original numbers were in good shape. Remaining decals were replaced.
Driver was given "legs" & one arm that Monogram didn't feel were needed originally. After much cutting & trial fitting, the driver was finished & detailed with a new chrome dash and simulated gauges.
A floor pan was fashioned from lexan & covered with black Model Master "fur."
On the line at LORDS Dragway 12-22-04.

Waiting for the tree to come down & secure the win.
