Burmese Cats

Burmese cats are the best cats there can be. Burmese cats come in a huge variety- there are many colors and types. Burmese cats are low maintenance and have a very charming and friendly personality. You can say they are the perfect little package.

For starters, Burmese cats come in a huge variety. First of all, there are two types of Burmese: Burmese and European Burmese. The CFA now make out two types of Burmese. CFA stands for cat fanciers association.  “The Burmese breed was established in the early 1930's in the United States and was accepted for registration in CFA in 1936. The breeders in the United States chose a standard that selects for a rounder head style and shorter body. They also elected to keep Burmese to their four original colors – sable, champagne, blue and platinum. Breeders in Europe, however, elected to broaden the available colors (there are ten) and select for a different appearance over the last few decades, so the breed in that part of the world looks different. CFA now recognizes them as a separate breed and named them European Burmese.” In each type of Burmese, there are a set of colors.  Burmese have 4 colors- blue, champagne, sable, and platinum. Blue is a medium gray color. Champagne is a warm honey-beige color. Platinum is a pale, silvery gray color. Sable is a dark brown, chocolate color. European Burmese have 5 colors brown, chocolate, red, cream, and tortie. Burmese cats can be either traditional or contemporary. Traditional have a slightly more stretched out face and someone less of a nose break. Contemporary Burmese have a very round head and an extremely short muzzle.

Burmese cats are very low maintenance. You don’t really have to brush Burmese cats’ hair because it is very short. “Burmese cats are very low maintenance, a weekly groom will help remove loose hairs, but this can be done just simple petting and stroking.” Grooming isn’t necessary because the cats can do it themselves with their tongues. All you really have to do for grooming is clip their nails if they get too long and making sure there are no infections in eyes, nose, and ears. One time a female Burmese disappeared and returned 7 months later with only fleas. Everything else was perfect, these cats can take good care of themselves leaving you with less work. For their litter, you can use wood shavings, peat, or preferably kitty litter, which isn’t too expensive. Burmese cats are way easier to take care of compared to other cats.” Burmese cats are also very charming and friendly. They are very people oriented. They absolutely love company. Burmese cats are wonderful companions and can help with illnesses.” Most friendly and easygoing of all imported cats, all of them unusually friendly.” Burmese cats are very easygoing around or in motor vehicles. Kittens love doing amazing antics for their owners and some can even learn to play fetch. Burmese cats are also very intelligent, they can open doors. “The burmese is an excellent cat for people who enjoy a friendly and active cat.” They are also very adaptable. They are good children and can put up with the family dog. They stay playful from birth till death. Even in adulthood they can play around and even follow their owners like dogs.” The Burmese cat is quite lively, clumsy and playful as a kitten, remaining playful well into adulthood. As they mature their intelligence grows and they are a charming cat. They enjoy human company and are highly affectionate. They are almost dog-like in their character, craving human company, capable of learning to retrieve and enjoying being petted.” They love to be the center of attention, are energetic and playful but can also be mischievous. The Burmese is trusting and relies on its touching eyes and charm to get through life. This makes the world a dangerous place and so they are best kept indoors.

Burmese cats truly are the best cats. Burmese cats come in a huge variety- there are many colors and types. Burmese cats are low maintenance and have a very charming and friendly personality. Burmese cats are playful until death.
