Tim writes: "First, I have to compliment on the site, it was a huge tool for me when I started researching Vikings last summer. Here are some pics of my 1979 17-30A Super Viking. I owe it to my uncle who owns a '74 for getting me hooked. I purchased N28056 in September of 2005 with the help of Tom Witmer of Witmer Air in Pottstown, PA. The plane was bought new from the factory in 1979 by the gentleman I bought it from, and had been maintained primarily by Witmer's since new. One owner and well maintained - a huge selling point. 2350 hours TT and 420 SMOH when I took possession and flew it back to Texas with my uncle. Since then I've put close to 130 hours and a month ago got my instrument rating in the Viking. I recently hauled 4 of us from Texas to Minneapolis and back - proving the true cross country ability of the Viking. I've added the JPI EDM-700, FS-450, Gami injectors, Apollo GPS and vertical card compass."
"I made the mistake of taking the plane to Miller's in Plainview for a couple of Sqawks and came out with close to a new interior and a partial paint job changing the accent colors. I've included a couple of shots of the "before". Everyone associated with Vikings have been a pleasure to deal with - "thanks" go out to Tom Witmer for helping me in the purchase, and all at Miller's for helping spruce her up. Thanks again for a great site!"
