We are a
conventional row crop farm (all non-GMO) slowly converting some acreage to organic
production.
The bulk of our production is conventional non-GMO corn and soybeans. We started transitioning 20 acres into organic production in 2004 and now have 150 acres certified organic by ICO. We have 50,000 bushel of on farm grain storage, storage for 10,000 bales of hay or straw, high temperature grain drying capability, a certified organic seed/grain cleaning and weighed bagging facility, capacity to harvest, pack and cool 3 pallets(3 ton) of sweet corn per morning, on farm refrigerated and frozen storage, state inspected facility to process frozen sweet corn and a full line of mostly 12 row equipment to grow corn, soybeans, oats, wheat, field peas, sweet clover for seed, hay (small squares), straw, and sweet corn. |

We have certified organic fresh market sweet corn available wholesale in season (mid-July through August). It's iced in the field to quickly start removing field heat and then stored at the farm at 33 F. It's then iced again to bring cob core temperatures below 38 F as quickly as possible. We have refrigerated delivery of pallet quantities (42 cases of 48 count) available in the Chicago area during July and early August.
A new venture for us is organic frozen corn-on-the-cob. It's processed here on the farm in a state inspected facility.
Where are we: We are located about 60 miles southwest of Chicago, Illinois.
