2. Navigating This Website:
The
home page has an "Issued:" date in the lower right-hand corner that represents the
last time this site was updated.
This date is automatically corrected when the page is changed.
The
"Recent News" section on the lower right side of the home page
contains links to recent news items. The most recently added items will be
preceded by this graphic -

You've probably already noticed that these text links are highlighted in blue
letters that turn red, underlined when the mouse pointer hovers over them.
This is true for all internal and external links on this site.
This
site was designed for operating with a screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels,
but will work well in other resolutions. If you use higher resolutions, and
your eyesight is as bad as the Webmaster's, it may be necessary to increase
the displayed text size in your browser.
It
is best to use the "Full-Screen" option when browsing this site -
especially for such pages as the "Briant Park Cybertour."
3. Site Search Feature:
This
Web has the ability to Search the site for a match on a particular word or a
phrase. The "Help"
hyper link provides guidelines for structuring the search - see the
non-working sample below.
After
you've entered the criteria, the search engine will scan all pages of the
Newsletter and return its findings in the following format. Note that there is
a grouping for each page on which there is a match for the search word or
phrase (i.e. briant park in this case.)
A
summary of the search is displayed with ten finds to the page as illustrated
above. Note the links to the Previous or Next page(s) if the search consists
of more than ten finds.
The
"Site Search" facility will only locate the page which contains a
match for the input word or phrase. To find the actual match go to the page
and use the "Edit / Find [on This Page]..." selection on your
browser toolbar.
4. The ICRA:
The Internet Content Rating Association is an international, independent organization that empowers the public, especially parents, to make informed decisions about electronic media by means of the open and objective labeling of content. ICRA's dual aims are to:
- protect children from potentially harmful material; and,
- to protect free speech on the Internet.

5. Site Map vs. Site Chart:
The purpose of a site chart or a site map is to convey the basic architecture of the Website to the new user. The difference is in how it accomplishes this.

The Site Chart is pictorial in nature and as such uses block diagramming techniques to illustrate the Website structure. Most of the block elements in the BPN chart are graphic hyperlinks.

The Site Map , which is the most common type, depicts the architecture through the use of internal and external, text oriented hyperlinks. Note that this format has not been kept up to date, and is presented for reference purposes only.
In either case, the user is able not only see the site structure, but also to navigate his/her way around the Website. Try both of these methods and decide which you like better. Then, please take a minute to let us know which you prefer..
