2002. Kiss this tranquil scene good-bye.
The first warning of the destruction to come.
What happened to all the parking spaces, and the trees
that lined the lot?
There goes Park Drive.
The construction crew sets up the pile-driving rig.
Pilings are driven to widen the road which will no longer
be accessible to visitors of the park.
Good-bye Park Drive. Good-bye parking lot.
It is the opinion of this publication that The Union
County Department of Parks and Recreation should have given different
consideration to this project.See
