"Today I Can Smile!"

Yesterday I could not. You see I just went to a Day To Shine Program at The Battered Women's Foundation. Today I felt special.

I know we may never meet. But, so many women at this event are broken women on the road to recovery. While my road behind me was very tragic, my future now seems bright.

When I came to this event, I felt love all around me. I had just started to get a haircut when they called my name for the grand prize. Wow, I never win anything. All this wonderful pampering and now a Grand prize too. They tell you that you can make it.

You see by opening your doors to hurting people like me you are reaching people forever. I may never be able to thank you, but I thank you now for allowing the Battered Women's Foundation to come to your church, school, or business you are able to help hopeless people like me.

A lady who cut my hair, told me I was special. I thank everyone involved for caring enough to bless me. Thank you for your kindness to the women and kids at these events.

God Bless you for what you have done for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
