I am your neighbor, secretary, sister The woman you glance at in the store Or walk past in the street Sometimes, I even have children Do you know me? My self-esteem is gone I doubt & fear all I hide behind curtains, doors & walls Do I dare to look? Could I ever even try to leave? Do you know me? Even if I did - surely I would perish Over time - I have changed and adapted I have become co-dependent It is not as if anyone truly cares I am not even noticed Do you know me?
