YBCU nest in several locations in Colorado.
- Cottonwood Canyon; Baca County
Check draw south of the camping area and trees along
Carrizo Creek at the camping area.
- Hale Ponds below Bonny Reservoir; Yuma County
YBCU nest in older, taller cottonwoods between Hale Ponds
and the Kansas border. Also check cottonwoods along
the Republican River (especially 0.4 miles East of
Yuma County Roads LL.5 & CR 4.
- Tamarack Ranch; Logan County
YBCU nest in older cottonwoods trees. Especially found
between Highway 55 to parking areas 1West & 2West
- Overland Park in Sterling; Logan County
Check tall cottonwood trees along the South Platte River.
(Black-billed Cuckoos have also nested here in the past).
