Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
YBSA are usually found in isolated spots during the Colorado Winter.
- Red Rocks Park & Morrison Park; Jefferson County
A juvenile bird has been observed in the pines at the Red Rocks
Grade School and Chapel (also across the street at Morrison Park).
- Abbey In Canon City
A juvenile and pair of adults were observed at the southwest
corner of the soccer fields at the Abbey. Nesting has been
suspected (plans to explore the possibility are in the works.)
- Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins; Larimer County
In past years (not winter of 2003-4 yet) YBSA have been
reported visiting the Scotch Pines in the cemetery.
