Osprey
Osprey nest along lakes and ponds throughout Colorado.
- Pueblo Reservoir; Pueblo
Osprey nest at Western end of Pueblo Reservoir. They are
observed hunting throughout the day at the reservoir and
Valco Ponds area of the State Park.
- Chatfield Reservoir; Jefferson/Douglas Counties
Osprey nest at the New Heron Rookery, south the the reservoir.
- Highway 9; Summit County
There has been a nesting pair of Ospreys which return to the
nest on the telephone pole on the West side of Highway 9
about 3.0 miles South of Interstate 70 (North of Silverthorne).
