Hummingbirds
Hummingbirds migrate along the foothills of Colorado.
Several species nest in the same foothills.
- Estes Park Campground, Estes Park; Larimer County
One of my favorite places to watch Hummingbirds. The feeders
in front of the store attract Rufous, Calliope, and Broad-tailed.
- Colorado State Forest; Larimer County
Several of the best locations to watch migrating Hummingbirds
in Colorado are in the State Forest.
1. Colorado State Forest Visitor's Center
Has feeders that are left up only during visiting hours.
2. The KOA campgrounds at the State Forest Entrance.
Feeders are left up from sunup to sunset.
- Manitou Springs Train Station; El Paso County
Feeders attract Broad-tailed & Black-chinned Hummingbirds
that nest in the surrounding area. During migration, Rufous
and Calliope come by also.
