Although I remember the attempt of the CDU to topple Willy Brandt by invoking a vote of no confidence quite well, my own political self-conscience was developed only a few years later during the years of Helmut Schmidt's chancellorship.  Since then, politics has become a hobby, a passion, and a vocation.

At the beginning of my studies, I was mainly interested in economic questions.  Later, I developed an interest in the topic of domestic rule and violence - especially terrorism and democracy - before I finally switched to International Policy.  First, I was fascinated by the topic of multilateral conflict management in international politics.  Therefore, I did substantial work on the CSCE, then on the UN.  And when I came to the US years later, I brought all three topics - violence, conflict management, and international politics - together: Since then, I have mainly focused on US military interventions since 1989.
