The annual Youker Family Reunion is held on the third Sunday in August every year at the Fire Department Picnic area in Salisbury Center New York. The contact point is Marlene Seifried, Rd2 Overlook Rd, Little Falls, N.Y. 13365. Most likely all Youkers are decended from Rudolph Youker who settled in the Mohawk Valley of N.Y. in the early 1700s from perhaps the town of Nefftenback in Switzerland or the Rhine Palatinate of Germany. We l have copies of the four volumes of the Youker Family History as prepared by Dorthy Sonntag in 1983 for sale as follows: Solomon-$28; Jacob-$27; George-$21; Johnnes-$20.
Rudolph was naturalized July 3, 1759 by an Act of the NY Legislature along with many other Palatines. The name was spelled Yoncker at that time. The orginal name in Swiss german was probably Juckeror perhaps Jauker. Rudolph married Anna Windlorin and had children Rudolph Jr., John, Zusanna, Jacob, George, Solomon and James.
