| Welcome! I am a retired Navy P-3 pilot and now fly as Captain on the A300 for FedEx Express. I wanted a fast, affordable and aerobatic airplane that I could commute to work with and have fun with on the weekends. Van's aircraft meets these needs providing an all aluminum, "Zero" time, fully aerobatic airframe. My family and I started building the RV-8 April 1998 in our garage. We enjoyed building the RV-8 and first flew it on June 4th 2000. We now have over 937 hours logged in the RV and have attended numerous fly ins and Young Eagle events and have logged over 84,770 NM's of cross-country flying. Thanks for visiting our site. | Refilled an O2 bottle lately? U know how big a ripoff it is at your friendly FBO. Costs 40 Bucks to refill this entire bottle at a welding supply company and another $50 per year to lease it. Pigtail rig cost me $174. I refill my 9'cu Sky Ox my self and save a bunch. Procedures are self-critiqing. If u screw up u die. Started using nitrogen in the tires. Less wear and tear removing wheel pants all the time to service tires. | ||||||||||||
