PROVIDENCE, RI, page 2
Here are some pictures of subjects closer to home.

The past year, I've lived on Pitman Street, about a half-mile from campus, well within walking distance, even in the foulest weather. In past years, I lived on Benevolent Street, a block from campus. The size of these streets is typical. When it snows, the regular denizens seem so immune to the stuff, the sidewalks often go uncleared. So the students in off-campus housing (like myself) take their chances with the cars and snowplows and use the streets as their sidewalks.

A stuffed Chippendale armchair, a brick wall, and the inevitable stadium blanket/throw to keep warm. It must be the northeast. The only thing missing is the fireplace (it's on the opposite wall).

George Street, looking west toward downtown. If this picture extended a bit more to the left, you would see...

...Horace Mann, the English Department of Brown University. My office is in the basement. They're building a new department building right now, with a more modern design.
