In "Historical Collections of Harrison Co. in the State of Ohio" by George A. Hanna, there is the following notation on page 203:

 

     "Thomas Ayres, assignee of James Kendal and Thomas Mills, NW 8.12.5, Aug. 19, 1824"

 

This is the same date that Thomas Mills received a Patent for his property in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio.
