Just like Mine #1, I built a cardboard mockup for Mine #2.  This mine actually went through several different incarnations, some of them being built into mockups.  The shape of the surrounding mountain depended on the design of this mine, so the mine had to be designed and mocked up before I could build the mountain around it.

 

And like Mine #1, The final building will be very similar to the mockup, with a few windows and doors.  The final building will also probably be a dark gray instead of the black that is on the mockup now.

 

The photo below shows one of the earlier mockups, which looked more like a barn than a mine, and was too large for the area anyway.

The area around the mine will have trees and shrubs which will make the mine seem to "sink into" the hillside a little more once the foliage has been applied.
