Top Left: On our trip from Warsaw to Krakow we saw many of these abandoned railcars that are now being used as homes.

Above Right: The city of Krakow is built around a central square.  "All roads lead to Krakow."  The only major city in Poland to survive both World War I and II, the architecture is a complex marriage of the past centuries.
Left: Flowers adorn the city of Krakow. From the local stores, to the street vendors, to the cafes, beautiful summer flowers seemed to be everywhere.
Below Left: Mr. Surface, my father, Bruce, and I enjoyed a cool rest at a local café looking out at the central square.
Below Right: A horse and carriage traveling toward the central square market.

Above: These little cars are made by Fiat and are all over Poland.  Gas is very expense and these minis were designed to be very fuel efficient in their day.  Almost all of the roads in Krakow are cobblestone.
Right: Formerly the capital city of Poland, Krakow contains a great castle that is at the top of a steep, spiraling road.  Great walls protect the castle on all sides.
