From Boulder Turnpike (highway 36) into Boulder
Take Baseline Road West (Left) to Chautauqua Park (1.3 miles)
Continuing on Baseline, Gregory Canyon is 0.4 miles West to sign for parking
The Walker Ranch burn area begins at 7.3 miles up Flagstaff Mtn Road
from Gregory Canyon at the bottom. One of the parking spots was at
7.6 miles from Gregory Canyon at a steel guard rail with a sign
that says "Park Temporarily Closed" and a sign with the number
eight on it. The burn area and woodpeckers are on the south side of
the road. That's where area had the best viewing. The other spot is a
little father up with a single parking drive perpendicular to the north
side of the road. One Three-toed was on each side of the road here.

NEW VIEWING LOCATION (Gary Lefko):
"If you go into Soaring Eagle Ranch community along Hwy 257 (north of Hwy 68),
As you enter Soaring Eagle Ranch, pick up map flyer at Realtor sign.
You want to head to area C specifically house 37080 (for sale) which
is on shore and directly looks at where gulls were roosting. There
are also two adjacent lots to north of this home for sale. Builders
didn't mind I was at backyard fence looking at birds. The map
indicates an open space in this area to water's edge--it is not there
yet but it would be something to keep aware of for future viewing.
There are probably six lots with reservoir in their backyard, it would
behoove us all to build relations with the future homeowners for
access--this is a great reservoir that cannot be viewed all that well."
