Fashion

J e a n  -  P a u l   G a u l t i e r
is an original and outrageous designer, a man who habitually defies or ignores the standard definitions of style.  He has brought kitsch, fetishism and futurism into the mainstream of Couture.
Where some designers aim to bring high fashion to the everyday, Jean-Paul Gaultier propels it into the realm of art, fantasy, surrealism, male cross-dressing, and any number of other innovative concepts.  Gaultier finds his inspiration on the city streets and club scenes. More precisely, he finds it down the alleys, at underground parties, and in the factories that produce urban life.  He blends these trends with styles from past eras, often using Victorian gowns and '40s French sailor stripes as motifs. While other designers offer censored versions of the times, Gaultier has presented the NC-17 version of reality.
His sexy and fanciful visions have made him an obvious collaborator for film and music.  One of his most famous works is the pointed corsets pop diva Madonna wore during her Blond Ambition tour.
Monogram Multicolore

In 2002 Marc Jacobs collaborated with Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami in designing a new contemporary  look for Louis Vuitton's Canvas Collection while still respecting the Traditional Monogram design. Murakami expanded the classic monogram which originally only existed in brown and gold to an explosive palate of 33 colours.
