JAMES was born March 11 1887 Washington Co TN. JAMES was the son of JOSEPH DICKISON and REBECCA ELLEN PENDERGRASS. He married ETHEL MC NICOL Washington Co TN, Dec 22, 1906. JAMES died Dec 8, 1950 in Jonesborough Wash Co TN, at 63 years of age. Martha Ellen married James Garfield Dickison in 1923, a widower with 5 children, ranging in ages from 3 to 16 years old. She became their mother in ever since of the word. The children loved and respected her. She helped care for her granddaughters Peggy & Carol Ann, daughters of Daisy Dickison & Miller Beals, while their mother worked, after their father was killed in WWII. The grandchildren did not realize that she was a step-grandmother until after their grandpa Gar's death in Dec. of 1950. Although she never gave birth to a child, she was a mother of 5, and grandmother of 12.
