Bob Hunt's
Clifton Forge High School
Page

I graduated from this fine institution in 1964, along with some other young people. I guess they're fine old people now, like me. The city school system merged with the Alleghany County, Va. system, to become more efficient, and the Clifton Forge High School ceased to exist. Now the Green and Gold Mountaineers have become the Red, White, and Blue Mountaineers of the Alleghany Highlands School System. And the school song, "Hail to C.F.H.S." has bit the dust except in our memories.

However, some of the alumni who have remained or returned, have banded together to start the Alumni Association, which is busy getting together for socials and such, as well as maintaining a scholarship fund. So, if you're an alumnus, give some thought to joining the CFHS Alumni Association to keep posted and to support them in general. There's more school history on my CFHS Alumni page here.

You might check out the web site classmates, which allows you to Register with your school and, by becoming a paid Member, be able to contact your classmates as well as other registered members, including those from other schools. ClassMates® charges for a Membership but not for the registration.

Incidentally, there appears to be no "Clifton Forge" city anywhere in the country, now that our Clifton Forge has downgraded its charter to Town!
