More and more people are turning to massage therapy to assist with
the treatment of stress, illness, injury, and pain. In general, a physician's prescription is not required and massage therapy can be used in conjunction with other healing arts to promote a balanced state of health.

Types of Massage Treatments

Prior to your first treatment, you will be asked to complete an intake form, which includes your reasons for getting a massage, medical history, lifestyle, and stress level. This information will be reviewed with you to determine which type of treatment would best meet your needs.

Amma Therapy - Oriental type of treatment that is rooted in
the same fundamental principles as acupuncture and herbal medicine. Specialized techniques and points are used to balance and stimulate the flow of energy in the body. You wear a gown or loose comfortable clothing and oils and creams are generally not used in the treatment.

European Massage - Swedish type of treatment that uses
strokes such as effleurage (gliding), petrissage (kneading),
friction (rubbing), tapotement (tapping), and vibration. You are draped in a sheet or towel and oils and creams are used in the treatment.

New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master - Skilled in Amma Therapy (oriental treatment), European (Swedish) Massage, and Reiki (energy work).

Honor’s Graduate from the New York College of Health Professions (formerly the New York College for Wholistic
Health, Education, and Research) with an Associate’s degree
in Occupational Studies (Massage Therapy) and over 1200
hours of coursework, including in-depth study of Amma Therapy and European massage techniques, Anatomy & Physiology, Myology (muscles), Kinesiology (movement), Neurology (nerves), Pathology (diseases), Oriental Anatomy & Physiology, Oriental Clinical Assessment, Ethics, and Business Management.

New York College Internship and Clinical Award -
Completed an 8 month internship at the New York College Clinic and received an award at graduation for clinical expertise.
