When I got this, I decided not to go with standard Star Fleet colors, and wanted to do the prop as a civilian type weapon. The main body is painted bronze, with the hand grip, back access plate, etc. painted black, and the emitter painted metallic blue. I envisioned the hand grip as being a removable Sarium Krellide power cell, which is detached by depressing the recessed grey button.
