Review Game – 50 points

 

          Each group will plan a 20-minute game to help the class review your section for the midterm.

 

1. Colonial and Revolutionary Period: Chapters 2 - 6

2. The New Nation: Chapters 7 – 9

3. Jackson and Reform: Chapters 10 - 12

4. Sectionalism, Civil War, and Reconstruction: Chapters 13 - 15

 

Theme sheets – 50 points

            Each group will prepare a Theme Sheet for two of the following themes.  This is what you must do for this part of the assignment

 

1. Brainstorm everything you can find in your notes, study guides, and the book concerning your topic.  Put your brainstorming into either chronological order or by topic on a handout for the rest of the class.

 

2. Write two or three essay questions concerning your topic and then generate generalizations that could serve as thesis statements to answer your question for the periods that we have studied so far.  Prepare an outline for each of your questions complete with the historical evidence that you would use to support your thesis statement.

 

3. On Friday, December 12, each pair will present their theme sheets to the class.
