A(a) (on Survivors Map) -

Paired Pennsylvania Railroad Class DD1 #3936-3937 at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.  These twin, semi-permamently-coupled box motors were in very bad shape the last time I looked.

They were built in the Pennsy's Juniata Shops in Altoona in 1911 and were a gift of the Penn Central Corp. in Dec 1979.

The Museum also has Pennsylvania Railroad B1 #5690, Altoona, 1934, purchased in Apr 1973 from Penn Central Corp. (restored).   new.gif (23 Apr 03)
