Dave writes: “Here are a few photos of my new (to me) Viking for your Viking of the Month. It's a 1969 17-31 S/N 32-12, tied down at Falcon Field (FFZ) in Mesa AZ. The pictures were taken at Mogollon Airpark (AZ82) in Overgaard AZ, where we have a cabin and fly into. That is just one of the many reasons I bought the Viking was for the horsepower to fly out of the high density altitude airport (6800 ft. fld elev) and short flying time back and forth to Falcon field.”
”The plane is well equipped with dual MK 12D's, King audio panel and DME and Narco transponder. My passion for Viking's started in the early eighties when I was a partner in a 1970 17-30 for about two years and 50 some flying hours. Now, after owning a Stinson, Tripacer, Cherokee 140 and a Pacer over the past twenty some years I am back in a Viking and loving every minute.”
”The plane is a solid 8 in and out and the only flaw is a high time engine but still has good compressions and is running strong. I plan on owning this plane for a long time and look forward to attending as many Bellanca Fly-Ins and get togethers that I can. The Viking web site is awesome and was really helpful when I was looking for information before I purchased my plane.”
