Clifford writes: “Stumbled across your website and as it turns out, I own a Viking too! My father used to own it years ago, but sold it for $30k with a timed-out engine. Since we sold it, it received a zero time engine, new tires, nose gear assembly and lower cowling (due to nose gear failure), a King GPS, intercom, and a CII autopilot. Last month we bought it back, due to the fact that I had just gotten my pilot's license and my dad was tired of flying a Cherokee 180. I think we just about stole it for $40k. It lives in Monahans (sometimes in Stanton) Texas, and plays all over west Texas. She never flies high or in a straight line, so the GPS and autopilot are really of no use to me (the classic IFR flying, I follow roads). So far, I've flown a total of 30hrs with her and she's getting used to me quite nicely. Sometimes we'll go out to the local 6 mile oval test track and do a few laps for fun, dogfight with hawks, or buzz coyotes. I'm sure gonna miss her when I step into ag planes.”
