The Moon Tree in located in Wilson Park at the State Capitol in Salem, Oregon, was dedicated as an official Oregon Heritage Tree on April 11, 2003! The ceremony began at Willamette University  the Star Trees dedication.  The speakers  included the University President Lee Pelton and Secretary of State Bill Bradbury.  Dr. Pelton and "Mr. Tree," Maynard Drawson, unveiled the Star Trees plaque. The ceremony then continued on to the Moon Tree on the Capitol Grounds for the unveiling of the Moon Tree plaque.
