1st game: My Dark Deal deck vs. on of the better players Dagobah/AS deck:
This is exactly the deck that I was dreading when I walked in. I started with
Cloud City and Bad Feeling Have I, he starts with Dagobah and Do or Do Not. He
gets an early start, getting all 3 asteroid sectors and sets up a AS by the 3rd
turn. I quickly use Point Man to cancel it. All this time, I'm generating like
no force from lack of sites. This is a reoccuring theme with this deck. He
turtles up with Yoda and Leia while I start setting up Dark Deal. I finally get
Dark Deal out and he completes Jedi Test 1, not good. Now he sets up AS #2 with
Han in the Falcon. I made a big booboo and kept forgetting to draw Asteroid
destiny (and he conveniently didn't say anything). This is when the drains
started. To make a long story short, he wins by 26. :-( I also have to say that
this was the least enjoyable game, my opponent was a jerk the whole game, as
I've noticed most top players can be during games. Very argumentitive.
2nd game: My LS Space kick butt deck vs. Salicious Crumb's (the one from the BBS) Epic Duel Deck:
This was fun. I start with Yavin 4 and Haven, he starts with a Carbonite
Chamber and There is No Try. I get some early ships out, uncontested. He draws
for like 5 turns. I spread, he draws. I drain, he draws and gets some stuff,
draining at sites. Kessel Run is accomplished. I'm doing so well, I decide that
Luke needs to take a trip to Cloud City. Now I have Luke with his saber,
thinking me all big because I've seen him lose like 5 epic duels and 3 luke
dueling cards. He gets Vader his saber, Epic Duel, and the Luke dueling card
out. He converts a turn before I drain him to death. Too bad I made that
mistake, I could have won by more. I win by 8. Salicious Crumb is really a
character. He's obsessed with the monkey. He has the little Crumb beanie baby
thing, and kackles just like Crumb. Interesting without a doubt.
3rd game: My crud Dark Deal deck vs. ANOTHER asteroid sanctuary deck by some guy that I'm sure didn't know the rules:
I hated this game. It took forever because the guy was slow. Way slow. He
thought he could target a ship that came out 5 turns after he played the Utinni
effect slow. Plus I didn't get any sites til the end of the game! ARGH! Anyway,
He did his thing with asteroid sanctuary early, each of which I'd cancel with a
TIE, then deploy some more and move to Kessel for a drain. I was stuck at Cloud
City and the Carbon Chamber where he used projection of a skywalker to cancel
my drains (both 1's). Goes on like this for the rest of the game, until I get
Dark Deal going and save some face, draining for 11. He wins by 18 :-(.
4th game: My kick butt LS Space deck vs. .... well, I'm not sure what kind of a deck it was by some kid:
Strange game. He starts with a site and an interrupt that I didn't really
notice. I thought I'd lose, I got no starships in my opening hand, and he was
saving force. I get 3 ships out, and he deploys the Executor. We battle once, I
lose, so I move to Kessel where he can't get me. In fact, he couldn't move the
sucker anywhere. I had 4 other systems to drain at, so I did that while he
drained for 2 each turn. I finally put some guys (SOS w/ saber, Leia and some
other guy) and he deploys Motti and a bounty hunter (think it was Bane). I
battle, use The Force Is Strong With This One, hit Bane, and draw two 5's. He
loses a bunch of force (like 10). This is the weird part. He starts HELPING me
get as high a differential as possable. Basicly, he doesn't concede is what
happened. I don't know what he could have done, but it wasn't much. I use
Kessel Run twice, then drain him to death. Big win, +38. I end up with 4(+2).
Not bad for the first tournament I've played in in like 2 years.
