Endor Regional Report

Hello! This is my TReport. It was played at Diamond Sportscards, in Redmond OR(Endor). There were 37 Participants. TD was Josh Wendt(Red 58)

The whole week I was preparing for this Tourney. It would be my first Regional, as well as first Sanct Tourney. This is my first TR, so bear with me :) Here are the decks I used..

Off we go!

Game 1: DS vs. Brandon Akana's Nightfall deck
Ironically, I rode with Brandon down to the Tourney, so I knew his deck pretty well. I was a bit scared, however. I knew he would bulk up one site and Nabrun over many Aliens and deliver a major Smakdown... I start JP/PotF, he Tatooine/Nightfall. I first turn get the Aud Chmbr and use it's text to get out Jabba and proceed to Alter his Nightfall(NF). I draw for some characters and sites and deploy them as we go on. He 3rd turn gets down Kessel and Tantive. My very next turn, I put down the Big E, and kill his Tantive. That same turn, I moved the Big E over to Tatooine for an uncontested drain of 2 the whole game(!!). We get a big battle going at Mos Eisely. I only have Vader/Tarkin, Dr. E, Mosep and J'Quille vs a lot of random Aliens and Droids, as well as Obi and Saber. I exclude a Snivian and Levitate Obi^Òs Saber and lose the battle by around 8. After the battle, I Circle Obi with his own saber :) and commence beatdowns. Win by 8.

Game 2: LS vs. Aaron Fitzgerald's Capture Deck
I start Throne Room/Civil Disorder, he Tat: JP/EtE. I first turn Monk and he first turn Mosep. We continue deploying many characters to only JP(sites weren^Òt drawn for a long time). I get Savrip down, but no Savrip Fodder... For about 2 turns, he pummels me for about 5-6 force. Finally I get out both of the Huts and get to draw some cards. The game ends up me running after FA Fett with Obi(captured via Hidden Weapons) and eventually releasing him, while draining elsewhere. I pull out OMDH late, and get 13 back. Win by 25.

Note: Aaron was very commendable. We had about 7 mins left, and he saw no way of winning, so he activated all of his remaining force and picked up to give me the full win.

Highlight: Smacking Fett with a 0 and 6 destinies and getting Obi back
Lowlight: Not getting OMDH set up til late, otherwise, it would have been a huge win.

Game 3: DS vs. Ryan Dasso's MnT deck.
Ironically, Ryan was the other guy I rode with. We knew each other decks. I start JP/Bad Feeling Have I, he Yoda^Òs Hut/I Must Be Allowed to Speak. I get a god draw- Vader, V's Stick and Circle. My eyes almost fell outta my head. He gets a good draw too. I activate my 3 force and save it(also got out the AC). He gets down Obi^Òs hut and puts Obi there and moves him to JP for a sure drain of 2 next turn, so he thinks. I put down Vader and Saber with Evazan. I circle Obi second turn! Things are looking good for me. I get my sites out and some quick characters. Soon, Vader/Evazan and some one else gets ambushed by a IMBATS SoS, 2 Eloms and Dollayn. He Smoke Screens and I lose the battle by around 7. I forfeit Vader(had another in my hand). I am doing no damage on the ground, and quickly lose control of it. In space, he deploys GLiG1 with BoShek to Kessel. I put down Fett in Slave 1 and battle. I pull Cantina for destiny and he Alter. I lose 4 force. Next turn he puts down RLiR1 and battles, I just lose Fett and a force to cover Battle damage. Kessel drains do me in, and things just went downhill from there. Lose by 14.

Highlight: 2nd turn Circling of Obi
Lowlight: Playing a friend, again, and losing. This kept me from the Finals.

Game 4: LS vs. Chris Wirfs Abyssin deck
Chris is a nice, funny guy. I start Throne Room/Civil Disorder, he JP/Den of Thieves. Uh-oh, this was one type of deck I didn^Òt playtest against. Poo. I get no Monk or Luke, but I get Rayc. So I was forced to put him down. He gets a site and an Abyssin and puts him there. The next turn I put down Chewie to keep CD in line, and he puts an Abyssin down. We continue to switch turns deploying characters and we get a big force going at JP. He has many Abyssins and Vader(luckily, no Myo at AC) vs. Luke, Obi, Leia, Boshek and Rayc. He tries to Circle Obi, but I Sense it. *Whew*. I start to run from him into the Palace, and try to drain, but DoT slows me down, and I can^Òt get a stupid Alter.. My only drain is at Tatooine, where the Captain and Falcon are. After more than 1/2 of the game(in which Chris controlled everything), I get OMDH set up and retrieved all but 1 of my Lost Pile. Timed win by 32

Game 5: LS vs. Jason Dennee's MnT Gailid Drain
Another nice guy. I felt bad this game, nothing went right for him this game. I start Throne Room/CD and he JP/Bad Feeling Have I. I first turn Monk. He counters on his turn with He Hasn't Come Back Yet. He pulls a 1 and misses. Just a start of things to come for him. He counters again with Bubo and I pull a 6 for destiny. The Monkey stays. He loses 2 to CD. This kept up for about 3-4 turns, and my Monks(I deployed antother, and Obi) lived most of those turns(1 got eaten). I deployed Luke w/ Saber and Obi's Saber and kill off Bubo. He puts down a Luke Seeker, and kills my Luke next turn. He eventually gets down his JP sites via EtE, which was a mistake becuase I get into the Palace with Tamtel and Leia O. He chases me around to stop drains, while he drained for 0, I drained for 3-5. I Grimtaash for 2 Controls and 2 Gailid. That was a close call. As I start to set up OMDH, he puts down the Executor and battles the Falcon, once again, I pull a 6 for destiny. He can^Òt believe it. I pull off OMDH 3 times for 13, 13 and 11 for a total of 37. During his last turn, he puts down Lt. Comm. Arden vs. a Monk, he battles and pulls a 1, I pull a 6 to add insult to injury. He lost the game due to that. Win by 35

Game 6: DS vs. Micheal Mikallian's(sp?) Haven/X-Wing Sanctuary deck
This was total drain race. I start JP/PotF, he Yaven/Haven. I also get Fett and Slave 1 in opening hand. I pull out the AC and get Jabba with it. I pull up the last to cards, 1 is Mosep. I just smile. He throws down 2 X-Wings for free and pulls up. I deploy Mosep and draw. I get Vader, Bane, Executor and Mos Eisley. I just smile. I deploy Mos Eisley with Vader there and Bane to JP. I move Mosep from the AC to JP and Alter his PoaS. I put Fett/Slave 1 to his Kessel and beat on a lone X-Wing for a 3 force loss. He returns with Capn Han/Chewie/Falcon. He kills off Fett. I respond with the Executor. He Rebel Barriers it and I use my last force to put a DJ Saber on Vader. His turn he battles the Executor and power turns out even. He runs to a freshly deployed Kiffex(great...) My next turn I just drain and pull up, getting the 3rd Marker, Djas and Zuckuss. On his turn, he puts down the Hologameboard with Savrip and Grimtaash. Great, another drain to deal with. He is now draining for 6, and I 7. I need a way to hurry up my drains. I put down Djas and 3rd Marker, while I put Zuckuss in Slave 1 and move it to Yavin to stop a drain at Yavin. He kills off Zuckuss, but my drains get to be too much for him, but he as well drains me quite a bit. I pull out the win by 7.

Highlight: Getting quick drains from the Reserve deck
Lowlight: Not to much action

I finished 4th out of 37. Unbelievably, I was 1 Victory point and 8 Differencial points away from the Finals. Oh well, maybe next year.
