Beaks-
As an almost daily patron of your site, I read fE's tourney report (he's a friend of mine); his story of our game had a couple inaccuracies, and I thought that I'd point them out (I'm usually a tad more type B, really). Consider this to be a "supplemental tourney report."
2nd game: My LS Space kick butt deck vs. Salicious Crumb's (the one from the BBS) Epic Duel Deck:
-That's, "Salacious Crumb."
This was fun. I start with Yavin 4 and Haven, he starts with a Carbonite Chamber and There is No Try.
-Actually, I started with the Holotable and Well Guarded (I don't even have CC:CC in my deck...)
I get some early ships out, uncontested. He draws for like 5 turns. I spread, he draws. I drain, he draws and gets some stuff, draining at sites.
-In reality, my site draining was minimal (never more than two sites); I inflicted some early damage by playing Counter Assaults.
Kessel Run is accomplished. I'm doing so well, I decide that Luke needs to take a trip to Cloud City. Now I have Luke with his saber, thinking me all big because I've seen him lose like 5 epic duels and 3 luke dueling cards.
-Actually, I only lost one Epic Duel, TCINC x2, and Focused Attack (I only have 2 Epic Duels in my deck).
He gets Vader his saber, Epic Duel, and the Luke dueling card out. He converts a turn before I drain him to death.
-I think that's quite the way to go down; too bad that I couldn't use Anakin's stick, though... As an extra note, I played John Davis, the guy who got third in the Endor III regional, in a casual game between rounds three and four. I had to forfeit one of my Vaders early in the game, but I rebounded to circle Obi (with ED on table) and cross Luke in the same turn. It was fun, though.
Too bad I made that mistake, I could have won by more. I win by 8. Salicious Crumb is really a character.
-Some people have said so (I assume that he's referring to me, and not the movie character). And my real name's Travis.
He's obsessed with the monkey.
-Just because I have a binder of Salacious Crumb cards, stickers, etc. (including a sticker that is only available in Europe) does not mean that I'm obsessed. Nor does the fact that I own nine copies of the CCG card (and I'm looking for 21 more, if anyone has any available).
He has the little Crumb beanie baby thing, and kackles just like Crumb.
-It's actually a "Star Wars Buddy," or a "Plush Action Figurine"--my emulation of Crumb's cackle is an acquired, rather than an inherent skill. I typically set him up on a Jabba OTSD Box to stare at my opponent (I've found it to be an effective psychological tool).
Interesting without a doubt.
