Thoughts about the Objectives

I wanted to know how these new objectives might effect the junior 40 card environment. So I decided to talk to an expert, number 1 ranked junior, Jeffrey Miller, to see what he thought about these new cards and how they could change junior tournaments.

What were you expecting when Decipher announced it wasd making a new card type?
My first thoughts of a new card would be that there would be a new kind of character or starship.

What was your initial opinion of these 10 cards?
My initial opinion of these cards was, Wow! These cards, if exploited correctly can lead to a very devestatingly strong deck.

Do you think that these cards are going to help or hinder junior play? Why?
I think that these decks will help Junior Decks. One of the biggest reasons is that most of them allow you to deploy a site each turn, or some allow you to play a main character, which most juniors don't have doubles or triples of.

Which one(s) do you think will have the biggest impact on junior tournaments? Why?
I think that the Light Side objectives that will have the biggest impact on junior tourney's are Mind What You Have Learned/Save You It Can and Rescue will be a lot seen out of Carbon Chamber Testing/My Favorite Decoration and Hunt Down And Destroy The Jedi/Their Fire Has Gone Out Of The Universe.

Which objective is your favorite? Why?
My favorite objective is Mind What You Have Learned/Save You It Can, because you are able to make an awesome Jedi Training Deck which is fast, and then onece Son of Skywalker is Pumped you can take him up and then deploy him anywhere! The best part is that you are able to use only one version of each important card and still get them out on turns two and three!

Which is your least favorite? Why?
My least favorite objectives are the Imperial Ocupation/Imperial Control and its light side mirror, Local Uprising/Liberation. These are my least favorite because they require so much to get going. You need to control three battlegroounds with operatives!, yeah right! Unless your opponent just sits back and watches you while picking their noses. And finally it is too easy to cancel and there are not enough good benefits in order to base a deck around keeping control of three force drain one sites.

Do you think that the objectives have any flaws in them? If so, what?
Some of the objectives have major flaws. Mind What You Have Learned/Save You It Can is far too powerful, and can be exploited very quickly since you can get a Dagobah Site and a key card each turn, while other objectives have very little potential at all and are slower. Also, all of the objectives are rare. They could have made a few of these like Imperial Occupation/Imperial Control and Local Uprising/Liberation uncommon.

What potential abuses could you see from these objectives?
I believe that since now it is really hard to find a solid light side deck, everyone will be trying to make this new form of a dagobah deck, while then deploing luke with I must be allowed to speak on tatooine making him throughly invincible.

Do you have any other comments?
I would like anyone with Yoda, Son of Skywalker, Anakin's Saber, I Must Be Allowed To Speak, Dagobah: Yoda's Hut or Dagobah: Bog Clearing, to seriously attempt to make this new deck with that new awesome objective, or I will be willing to trade them off of you for a great price!
