Strategy:
Now that Special Edition is out, more and more players are abandoning the old Mains decks and focusing on operatives. The problem is, the operatives
decks are so easy to play with and win with that much of the fun is taken out
of the game. Many times winning a game doesn't come down to who came up with
a good deck idea and assembled the cards they needed, but instead who found a
better deck off an internet site and managed to scrape together a bunch of
operatives. This deck goes back to the good old days...
Start with Obi's Hut so you can deploy Ben on the first or second turn. Hopefully, you'll draw Ben with saber in your opening couple of hands, and if not, fish out your weapon of choice w/ GOTM. Save LSP for Luke. The key is to get Ben, Han w/ Blaster, Leia w/ Blaster, and Chewie and/or Luke together and a Jedi Presence in hand. Then use Nabrun to hop around and battle (but watch out for Oota Goota, Solo?) You'll be drawing a minimum of 3 battle destinies, 4 with Slight WM, and Ben lets you revive any one character you have to lose. SATM should be saved for undercover spies and DS characters with a weapon or killer abilities, Weapon Levitation also guards against weapons and WOAUS, and Disarmed can also deal with those pesky weapons. Remember, if you're outmatched you can still drain on Tatooine, and the bonuses provided by the sabers gives the deck some kick even against "shell" decks.
When substituting, especially with characters, try to maintain the theme of the deck. All the smaller power 2 rebels are better than other power 2's because of the forfeit value, in fact, every character forfeits for at least 5! Also, try to avoid the EP versions of Luke and Obi; they may be tempting, but to have a chance against the fast decks out there now you NEED the drain bonus provided by the weapon cards, plus Ben's ability is one of the coolest around, and can keep your high forfeit characters around until you need them.
With Houjix and Abyssin Ornament out there, a DS operatives deck will beat this deck most of the time, but cheese decks will never be as fun as a good old-fashioned mains and toys deck, so get out there, dust off your old decks and have fun! (And remember, to kill an operative is the most noble thing any main can hope for!!)
