Droid Shutdown

Droid Shutdown is a light side card from premier that, until recently, I thought pretty useless. However, with the release of Jabba's Palace, it turns out to be quite an asset in some decks. Droid Shutdown is a destiny six, used interrupt - not a bad way to start a card in the first place. But its utility lies in its game text: "Cancel any attempt to steal, capture, or destroy one of your driods. Droid is protected for the rest of this turn."

When the dark side has finally managed to get Gailid down and is force draining for +1 at JP sites, I need to be able to get Artoo down so I can play A Gift with out the fear of Hutt Smooch; Droid Shutdown cancels the dastardly attempt to capture the little guy. Once I manage to get Artoo to the Audience Chamber, I want to keep him from being the victim of Sniper or a Weequay Marksman; Droid Shutdown prevents his destruction. Even though few people play with torture now that you can't play it targeting your own droids, it's nice to know that with Droid Shutdown, you won't have to worry about force retrieval coming from the suffering of your droids. The coolest part is that it's used so it can be recycled back into the deck for a great battle destiny draw.

So while Droid Shutdown might not be the perfect card for every deck, Jabba's Palace strategies have made it a useful card that is often over looked.
