After several weeks of listening to Radio Free Decipher (RFD) I felt it was time to applaud. After months of asking for Decipher to keep us informed, they listened and created a great idea on how to tell us interesting things while raising our interest with "gossip" (as Carol Wisely calls it). Radio Free Decipher is a smash.
The thing I like the most about RFD is that it isn't just information. We can listen to their voices. This is a more intimate way of PR than say a regular web article explaining the newest upcoming releases or why Decipher handles errata they way it does. While I might not agree with their methods, it makes me feel just a bit better when you can hear someone giving an intelligent explaination.
Decipher has also done a good job of using RFD to inform both CCG players equally. Of the seven broadcasts, the topics have been pretty balanced between both games. Even better, the focus generally moves from one to the other each week. This is a great way to give players of both card games the attention they want, so neglect isn't an issue.
With all this innovation, I would like to see Decipher forge forward even further. Many people are unable to listen in on the broadcasts because they don't have the audio requirements necessary or just can't access it. Providing a transcript of the interviews would be a great way to include players unable to hear the broadcasts. Doing so could disperse the information even further.
With new innovation comes refinement. Cheers Decipher on a great new communication method. Keep up the good work.
