FIRST GENERATIONS

Our family originated in or around the village of Colletot, located approximately 30 miles SE of Le Havre, on the western coast of France.  Google Map link to Colletot.  The county  (department in France) is Eure and is located in Normandy.  As a matter of act, this department is absolutely full of Baudouin family members. I would never have been able to develop this information had I not located a site where the actual Church Archives were scanned and put online. This site is located at Civil & Parish Registers . One thing, to view the e documents, you will need to download Adobe SVG Viewer for IE, an Adobe add-on, or use Firefox. SVG Viewer is available for free download at http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/main.html.  It will also help if you can at least read a bit of French. Many of the pages are quite legible, some are not. Another source I used is a transcription of these archives into several Excel spreadsheets done by.

Using these archives, I have traced our family back to Charles Baudouin, during the mid- 17th century. He was married to Marguerite Dubosc. Charles' immediate decendants are listed below. I do not yet know Charles' birthplace or birthdate, but it was in the general area.
