STATS
Info current as of: 11-11-01 Last visit date: 11-10-01 When opened: Summer 2001 Who built: Oregon Army National Guard IRT Size: Small. Difficulty: 3 (On a scale of 1-5, 5 being difficult) Fun: Fair. Helmets: Not required but always bring one just in case. Bikes: Yes, lots of bikes. Supervised: No. Hours open: Pier Park's hours are weird, 5am-12:01am. Lights for night: No. Covered: No. Cleanliness: Fair. Friendliness: Fair. Misc: This park has some problems but hey, any skatepark is better than no skatepark, right? A couple of odd aspects are the concrete covered coping and the shallow bowl that shoots skaters out onto the grass. It is a unique park, with it's concrete "Plateaus". Bikers seem to like the park. 2 of the 3 skaters I brought enjoyed it and plan to return. No pic-nic tables, restrooms are a walk away, no drinking fountain. (Sidenote: anyone who read my original scalding comments about this park will now see I've repaired my attitude.) |
