      A:  Sometimes cavities may be present and you may not be aware that you have any.
            Some cavities may cause you sensitivity to hot, cold or sugar. 
            Sometimes you may have a tooth ACHE because of cavities.

 

    A:  If the problem is recognized soon enough,  a filling can replace the decayed
          portion of your tooth.

 

      A:  This is a sign of gum disease (gingivitis / periodontitis)
            This is the major cause of tooth loss after age 30.

 

      A:    Brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day and
              see your dentist at least twice a year.

 

    A:  When there is infection of the pulp ("nerve")  of the tooth, a root canal is the
            method used to devitalize (numb/deaden) the tooth so that it will remain a
            functioning tooth in your mouth. 

 

A:  This is a technique to replace the biting surface of the tooth.
