The history of the 'Perumpoikayil'
sub branch starts from Thomas, the youngest son of Okanda, of the 4th
generation. His family was one of the four sub branches of the
Puthuparambil branch originating from Okanda the second son of
Puthuparambil Chandy (3rd generation). Okanda had four sons and the families
from all four flourished substantially. Hence the early fathers
considered all these four sub branches under separate names. Thomas
married Karambandethu Araikkammanil Mariamma from Kozhencherry and
had 3 sons. They settled in the Velliyara Perumpoikayil area.
Thomas passed away when his kids
were very young leaving the young widow the complete burden of the whole
family.
