Considered one of the finest sounding and most beautiful violas of the 20th Century, as well as a personal favorite of its maker, this instrument was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1972 for it's then Co-Principal Violist, Alan de Veritch. Patterned after one of the orchestra's Gasparo da Salo violas this instrument features double purfling borders on its front AND back as well as a double purfled inlaid design covering the back from top to bottom.
