27th Annual Excelsior Arts Festival ‘Art On The Lake’ Saturday & Sunday, June 9 & 10, 2007 Excelsior’s 27th Annual ‘Art on the Lake’ Festival is held at the Excelsior Commons Park on beautiful Lake Minnetonka. With an expected attendance of over 20,000 people per day it promises to be an extremely successful show. Attractions include 200 artists, children’s art activity tent, free music and entertainment, food vendors and free shuttle bus service for festival goers. Festival hours are Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Awards Art on the Lake will award a minimum of $2,000 in cash purchase awards. Eligibility This is a juried show open to all artists. Artists must represent themselves during the festival. Only artwork created by the applicant may be on display. No manufactured items or imports allowed. At least 25% of the work displayed must be original, with a limit of 75% reproductions. Artists’ Reception Art on the Lake is pleased to be hosting an artists’ reception. Exhibitors and their assistants are invited to the reception held under the Children’s Activity tent from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday evening. Food and beverages will be provided. Registration, Fees, Deadlines To apply for the 2007 Excelsior Arts Festival entries must be received no later than March 1, 2007. Please follow the simple instructions below to apply. ❏ Slides ■ Three 35mm slides of each medium to be represented ■ One slide of your booth filled with your artwork ■ Each slide must be labeled with artist’s name, medium and size of work ❏ Jury Fee ($20 per application) ■ Make a separate check payable to the South Lake-Excelsior Chamber of Commerce for each application ■ The jury’s decision is final. The jury fee is non-refundable ❏ Space Fee ($225 for one space; $475 for two spaces—space permitting) ■ Make a separate check payable to the South Lake-Excelsior Chamber of Commerce for each space requested (Please be sure your name is on your check—not just your business name) ■ Each space is 12 feet wide by 12 feet deep (this includes 2 feet for storage behind booth) ■ Extra booth spaces may be purchased (2 spaces maximum) ❏ #10 or larger Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) ■ To receive your notification and return of slides, a SASE must be included in your application ■ Be sure to put on enough postage to cover the weight of your slide materials ■ Write your category number on the lower left corner of your entry envelope Set-Up Information Larger, 12’ x 12’ booth spaces allow for storage. Fewer artists. There will be an optional Friday set-up, check-in from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sorry, we cannot accommodate early check-ins. Security will be provided Friday and Saturday night. However, we recommend you DO NOT leave your valuables on the site. The city of Excelsior does not allow camping or overnight parking. A list of overnight accommodations will be sent to out state artists..

Exhibiting Art ■ Spaces are assigned based on jury scores. We cannot guarantee returning artists their previous location ■ Booth spaces will be approximately 12’ wide x 12’ deep ■ Spaces may not be shared unless the artwork is fully collaborative ■ All display materials shall be the responsibility of the exhibitor ■ No booth shall be constructed of materials which may be dangerous to the public, e.g. exposed nails, sharp corners on tables, ropes, etc. ■ Artists may not use their vehicles to display their art, nor will exhibitors allowed to attach their displays to trees or light poles ■ Loud radios, equipment, etc. will not be tolerated ■ Displays must be promptly set up by 9:30 a.m. ■ Early disassembly is not permitted ■ All exhibitors will be responsible for immediately cleaning their space following the festival Submission of Slides ■ All participants will be selected from slides submitted ■ One $20 non-refundable jury fee must accompany three 35mm slides of your work ■ If you work in more than one medium, you must submit three slides of each category ■ required: slide of your filled display booth. 1 point will be deducted from jury score for entries without booth slide ■ remember, current and good slides are essential as the jurors will base their decisions solely on the originality and craftsmanship represented in your slides ■ Slides will only be returned if accompanied by a SASE Notification ■ All artists will be notified of the jury’s decision no later than April 9, 2007 ■ Notification and slides will be returned only if a #10 or larger self-addressed sufficiently stamped envelope is enclosed ■ By participating in the Excelsior Arts Festival, the artist denotes acceptance of the conditions specified in the entry form ■ The South Lake-Excelsior Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to evict any exhibitor who does not comply with the conditions of the Festival ■ Entries not properly submitted may have a delayed notification Registration, Fees, Deadlines ■ Applications must be received no later than March 1, 2007 ■ Late entries may be considered at the discretion of the jurors, space permitting ■ A $20 fee will be imposed on all returned checks ONLY OFFICIAL FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED, NO COPIES. retain this form for future reference Check In and Parking ■ Artists must CHECK IN Before setting up Friday or Saturday early check-ins cannot be Accommodated ■ Exhibitors will be assigned a specific check-in time based on the time they need for unloading and set-up per day ■ We use a drive-thru check in system to expedite the process ■ Drive up, check in, unload as quickly as possible, park your vehicle behind the Excelsior Mill (340 Water Street) or across the street at Lyman Park, take the artist’s shuttle bus back to the Commons and then set up your booth ■ check In times: friday evening: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday morning: Starting at 6:00 a.m. ■ The artists’ shuttle bus will be running Saturday and Sunday from the driveway entrance of the concession building to the artists parking areas. There will not be a shuttle bus available Friday evening. ■ No vehicles will be allowed to drive on park grounds ■ No overnight parking ■ All exhibitor vehicles must be registered on the registration form ■ If you have special needs, such as handicapped access, please let us know so that we may accommodate you Sales Tax ■ Minnesota state law requires each artist to provide a Minnesota Sales and use Tax I.D. number. Please provide your number on the registration form next to your name.
