About the Prints
Each original print is specially crafted by me and represents my final visualization of the photographed scene. The process employed in its production is an amalgamation of traditional film technology and modern day digital printing. The original negative or transparency is digitized using a high resolution drum-scanner. With the help of a computer I then perform various operations such as cropping, spotting, color balancing and contrast/tonal corrections, in order to prepare the "print ready" version of the image file. My prints are made on archival quality paper (Hahnemuhle Photo Rag) with pigment based inks (Epson Ultrachrome). According to Wilhelm Imaging Research, this combination of paper and inks has an estimated permanence rating of more than 100 years when framed behind glass and displayed away from direct sunlight.
Digital post-processing and printing have provided me with the necessary tools to make fine prints that exhibit exceptional sharpness, color and tonal range. Several of my prints are held in private collections. Some of them are on display in select art galleries. |
