high above
for me it's all of this
and even more

very smart
for me it brings me peace
keeps me secure
that's what words are for
and I think in rhymed patterns
it inspires my smile
it gives form to my reason
just my chosen style
my gift to myself
and to anyone reading
sometimes I'm laughing
sometimes I'm bleeding
sometimes it's a riddle
or an open door

up on a shelf
for me it is something
a kind of rapport
a gift I can give
