...THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE... (I HOPE...) THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE... (I HOPE...) THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE... (I HOPE...) THERE'S ALWAYS HOPE...
THE  EARLY YEARS

(WORDS NOT LOST ALONG THE WAY)

why won't you talk to me?
I live with you, you know
that is to say I live next door
in the next room
we share a bathroom
and a kitchen
and a front door key
and I see you every day
but I don't know where you go
and you never talk to me
it's as if I don't exist
I try, I will persist
adrift in worlds we've missed...

by the way, I cleaned
the bathroom

excuse me, but I have
been here a year now and,
you see, I'm not one to pry
or look into other people's
business, but I just figured
as we are neighbors living
under the same roof
right next door to each other
divided by a paper thin wall
for so long, even sharing the
same bathroom, well you see
what I want to ask is
what's you're name?...

by the way, the bathroom
stinks.
