Banard Cross died in Sangamon County, Illinois on September 27, 1845. Here are some of the records pertaining to his estate: April 25th 1845 Banard Cross wrote this note: Mr. Sidney Duncan, Sir you will confer a favor by letting William Heredith have two dollars in marchandize and open an account for me as I design trading with you the present season and if you let him have the articles charge the same to me and you will oblige. Yours, Banard Cross Priscilla Cross paid 2.00 to Sidned L Duncan to pay off this note on November 25, 1846 November 29, 1845... A full and perfect inventory of the goods, chattles, and personal estate of Banard Cross, Late of the County of Sangamon and state of Illinois, as presented to the undersigned L H Robertson E. D. Keacham and Achilles Morris, Appraiser appointed by the probate court of said County by Priscilla Cross Admin of said Estate the 29th day of November 1845

1 sow and 5 shoates $6.00 1 white face cow $7.00 1 yearling heifer $3.00 Lot of tools $2.00 It is ordered that the wodow be allowed a$126.00 June 26th 1847 By me, Thomas Moffett Probate J P February 27, 1846 Robert Hockinhull field a claim for $12.39 The debt was for these items that were purchased in 1845: 1/2 dozen table spoons .30, 1 pair brass burrons .15, 3 pair brass burrons, .25, 1/2 dozen screws .06, lead .33, camphor .13, 2 files .22, 1 box blue lock .10, 1 drawer lock .20, 1 cup. lock .25, 1/2 lb chrome grill? .50, 3 bottles of cordials .37, red pricipalah .13, and several other items that I couldn't read. December 26th 1846 George Rearick filed a claim for $18.48. He was paid $18.38 on March 17, 1867. The debt was for these items: purchased 1-24-1845 some iron for 10.85, 4.40, 2.31, 1.00 purchased 2-7-1845 some iron .64 purchased 8-5-1845 1 barrel molasses 2.50 purchased 8-23-1845 1 hog head .38 1 quart sweet wine .30, 1 # rice .10. purchased 9-26-1845 5 pounds of sugar $.50 and 5 punds of coffee $.50 $5.00 cash was paid on this account on June 23, 1845
