Michael Anton Bruckdorfer has worked as an artist for over 50 years. Since completing his Fine Arts degree at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Bruckdorfer has worked as a Designer, Art Director, College Instructor and artist. For the last 30 years he has worked with a mixed media of copper and paint in his studio located in Augusta, Missouri. He has been commissioned to create works of copper for corporations, churches and private collectors. Works from this prolific creative artist have appeared in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, as well as in several countries.
By working in a mixed media, Mr. Bruckdorfer is able to create base relief line images in a two-dimensional copper surface. The raised surfaces are then polished and layers of different colored paint glazes are applied over the base relief two-dimensional surfaces to create an art piece which has a range of depth, color and light unavailable by any other technique.
The goal of the artist is to create an interaction between the viewer and these lovely pieces of Tooled and Painted Copper. The viewer's perception changes as the light changes throughout the day, as well as the seasons. The play of light on copper as it passes through numerous layers of colored glazing, gives a depth perception to each art piece that changes with the interplay of light and the angle of the viewer.
A large selection of Mr. Bruckdorfer's work can be viewed at Americana Galleries- www.Americana-Galleries.com, which is located in picturesque history Augusta, Missouri on the corner of Walnut and Ferry. All works are for sale. Please visit Americana Galleries and meet the artist.
