The index is grouped by surname. CAUTION!!!The
index is not completely in birthdate order. (The program has trouble with
so many unlinked people.) When looking for MCNABBS of Williams, James,
Johns and other COMMON FIRST NAMES, look at the entire index of that name,
remembering that BIRTHDATES within a given first name may be out of chronological
order.
ARCHIBALD MCNABB: Born about 1724
in Perth Scotland, he married Elizabeth BRAWNER
This family was in Va. early. Other members of the families leave VA. for
PRAIRI DU ROCHER, ILLINOIS.
DAVID MCNABB:Born about 1811, he
lived in MEIGS and MARION CO TENN, married MARGARET LONG.
ELI MCNABB & ROANE CO/MONROE CO, TN MCNABBS:
This
index has ELI MCNABB who was born in SC in 1788, married Betsy
CARSON, ROANE Co TN in1821, was in HENRY Co TN by 1830, and
EDMOND M. MCNABB: Born 1822 MONROE
CO TN. and married Martha Miranda KILPATRICK. Among his children
the name LORENZO DOW MCNABB is used. The name LORENZO DOW MCNABB is also
found in the family of SHEPHERD MCNABB (see Shepherd McNabb index.)
This family later lived in CHEROKEE CO NC. (Possibly related to BUTLER
MCNABB) EDMOND MCNABB has recently been shown to be the son of
ELIAS MCNABB: Born 1785 in SC, he
married Elizabeth ADAIR in East Tenn. The family was in CHRISTIAN
CO KY by 1810. From 1820-1840, ELIAS MCNABB is found in TRIGGS CO
KY, where most of his children were born. 1830 TRIGGS CO KY census records
list SOLOMAN, WILLIAM and THOMAS MCNABB.(No family info has been collected
about these 3 MCNABBS) Later descendants of ELIAS MCNABB are found in RANDOLPH
CO ARK.
GEORGE MCNABB: Born 1746 in CHESTER
CO, PA. & married Martha SHEPHERD in 1771. He was found in BELMONT
CO OHIO in 1818 where he died. MARTHA SHEPHERD MCNABB lived in CLAIRSVILLE
CO OHIO, and BROOKE CO VA (later W. VA.) Three of his daughters married
HOLMES brothers. This family is related to those of JEFFERSON
CO W. VA.. (Also connected to the MCNABBS in BROOKE CO VA and OHIO CO (1850'S)
which became W. VA. & OHIO in 1860's)
ISAAC MCNABB:
Born 1777 OHIO. He
is found in GREENE CO INDIANA later with 8 children. (He has been
found to be linked to the GEORGE MCNABB family above, and will be
combined with that database.)
JAMES A. MCNABB: Born 1756, and
later married Agness ROSS. (This file has several generations with
children and spouses names, but little else. HELP!!) FAMILY

JAMES EDGAR MCNABB: Born 1781 (possibly
in PA). He later married Polly CORYELL.He is found in MONTGOMERY CO KY
in 1833, leaving soon after that to go to MORGAN CO INDIANA. (May
be related to the other MCNABB in northwest KY in the early 1800: ANDREW,
JOHN, JAMES & HICKLIN in BOURBON, FAYETTE, BATH & MONTGOMERY CO
KY.)
JOHN AND MARSHALL MCNABB:These brothers
were born 1784 and 1792. Family records say either in NC or SC.
Later they married ADAMS sisters: JOHN MCNABB marrying WINNA ADAMS in 1813
and brother MARSHALL MCNABB marrying MARY ADAMS in BLOUNT CO TN in 1818.
They left BLOUNT CO TN for WILLIAMSON CO TN late in 1818. Later these
families are found in MAURY, HICKMAN, LEWIS, SHELBY CO TN, also into ARK,
MISS, & GA.(These MCNABBS may be related to the descendants of ANDREW
MCNABB of SC. (see WILLIAM MCNABB b. 1702 for possible brother, ANDREW
MCNABB of VA, SC & GA). An area of southern NC including TRYON, ANSON
& MECKLENBERG CO NC disputed land with SC in 1770-1790.
After the dispute was settled, this land became part of YORK CO SC
.
JOHN MCNABB: Born 1759 and married
JANE DRYSDALE in Scotland. This family is later found in PUTMAN
CO ILLINOIS.
JOHN M. MCNABB: Born 1774, and lived
in MONTGOMERY CO KY. He married Martha Jane HICKLIN in 1794.
(He is possibly related to the other early northwest KY MCNABBS.
See the notes for JAMES EDGAR MCNABB above) JOHN M. MCNABB family stories
said that he was the son of a Rev. War. Soldier.
JOHN MCNABB: Born 1830 in HANCOCK
CO, TN. He married Mahala SHARPE. This family had children
born in TN, MO and KANSAS.
LORENZO GEORGE WASHINGTON MCNABB:
Born 1823 Tn, he married Elizabeth Emmaline AXLEY in JOHNSON CO ILLINOIS.
After being in VAN BUREN CO ARK in 1888, he later died in WILSON, TEXAS.
(The name LORENZO MCNABB is prominent in the families of SHEPHERD MCNABB,
and EDMOND M. MCNABB.)
MANLEY MCNABB: Born 1798 in WASHINGTON
CO TN or possibly nearby NC. He married Mary FAUBUSH in 1819 WASHINGTON
CO TN. In 1850, this family is found in LAWRENCE CO INDIANA.
(He is certainly related to JANE MCNABB who marriesWilliam STACKHOUSE due
to the strange similarity of children's names. Very likely this group
is related to the WILLIAM MCNABB of LOUDOUN CO VA family. One daugther
married JOHN MANLEY SEARS. Also likely to be related to ROBERT MCNABB
(b. 1760-1770) in WASHINGTON CO TN 1830, and JOHN MCNABB
ROBERT MCNABB: Born in PA, he married
1829 New Jersey to Prudence PARSONS.Their children were born in CENTRE
and MIFFLIN Co PA. Later the family migrated through OHIO, into ILLINOIS,
and finally settled in DEKALB and ALLEN CO, INDIANA.
SHEPHERD MCNABB: Born 1823 TN, and
a likely brother to BLACKSTONE MCNABB. Later both MCNABBS are in MURRAY
& GORDON CO GA. BLACKSTONE MCNABB married Nancy GREENWOOD in
MURRAY CO GA in 1836. SHEPHERD
WILLIAM MCNABB: Born 1691-1705 Ireland,
married to Dorothy. This family belonged to the Society of Friends,
the Quakers. They later lived in LAMPETER, LANCASTER CO PA.
(The LOUDOUN CO VA. families of WILLIAM and JAMES MCNABB are likely descendents,
also being Quakers.)
WILLIAM MCNABB: Born 1702, of AUGUSTA
CO VA & TN. Family legend has that he married Betty AIKEN, and
a grouping of several children has circulated for years. (No family
BIBLE records have ever been found. The 1920 original research on
this family was hired by a descendant of David MCNABB & wife, Elizabeth
TAYLOR. No documentation was included with this research, only a family
group sheet. A grandson of the family that hired the researcher now
believes that WILLIAM MCNABB lived in MONROE CO PA, prior to coming to
AUGUSTA CO VA. This WILLIAM MCNABB may be a descendant of JAMES MCNABB
who, along with many other prisoners of the Battle of Worchester were shipped
to America in 1651 aboard the JOHN AND SARAH. CAUTION!!!
There is no proof that William McNabb is a brother to Patrick MCNABB or
Andrew MCNABB. Only the children, Baptist, James and Samuel MCNABB are
proven. Andrew (South Carolina branch of McNabbs) are listed by association
of location and time. David MCNABB may be Capt David MCNABB,
son of Baptist MCNABB. This from an early DAR reference listing Capt
David MCNABB incorrectly as brother to Baptist MCNABB.)The 3 JOHN MCNABBS
of COCKE CO TN need work. The family sheets have some problems in
agreement with 1830 census records of COCKE CO TN. FAMILY

WILLIAM MCNABB: Born 1740, found
by 1760's in LOUDOUN CO VA. His son JAMES MCNABB (b.abt 1764) lived
in LOUDOUN CO VA until the 1820's. William MCNABB'S daughters, Patty
and Martha, both married JOHN MANLEY SEARS. All of William MCNABB'S children
are found in BELMONT CO OHIO except JAMES MCNABB. (There are Quaker
connections to this family in LOUDOUN CO VA This William McNabb may be
the son of William and Dorothy McNabb of LANCASTER CO PA., also QUAKERS.
William McNabb may be a brother to GEORGE MCNABB who married Martha SHEPHERD,
both families later living in BELMONT CO OHIO. MANLEY MCNABB, JOHN MCNABB,
and ROBERT MCNABB of WASHINGTON CO & SULLIVAN CO TN may also be related

PA, married Sarah CORYELL in CLARK or MASON CO KY. This family lived
in LIVINGSTON CO KY and later in GREENE CO OHIO. (May be related
to JAMES EDGAR MCNABB who married Polly CORYELL and are later found in
INDIANA.)
